Welcome to my latest blog post, where I take you behind the scenes of an exhilarating Beachwear and Vintage Fashion Vibes photoshoot with the stunning model Aarthi in the picturesque locale of Manly, Sydney. We embarked on a creative adventure that began with a beachside session at Delwood beach, capturing the essence of beachwear fashion, and later transitioning to the streets near the Corso for an editorial fashion experience with a vintage twist. Join me as I delve into the details of this remarkable shoot and explore the allure of black and white photography in creating a captivating vintage, editorial and fashion vibe.
Our journey commenced with the shores of Delwood beach, where Aarthi effortlessly showcased the essence of beachwear fashion. Armed with a collection of bikinis, Aarthi’s plain black and white choices, along with a few stylish cover-ups, allowed us to create a visually striking narrative against the backdrop of Sydney Harbour.
Aarthi’s versatility as a model shone through, capturing the essence of carefree summer days and embodying the spirit of beach bikini fashion, as shot a range of casual beach style and shots with more of an editorial feel.
After capturing the essence of beachwear, we ventured into the streets near the Corso, immersing ourselves in the atmosphere that Manly has to offer ‘behind the scenes’ in some of the side streets. For this part of the shoot, we wanted to infuse a touch of vintage elegance into the frames, embracing an editorial fashion approach. Aarthi donned a captivating ensemble, featuring knee-high black boots, a black and white patterned mini skirt, a black cropped top, and an oversized leather jacket.
To amplify the vintage and editorial aesthetic, I decided to process these images in black and white. Black and white photography possesses a unique charm, enabling photographers to capture the essence of a bygone era while exuding an air of elegance and mystery. By eliminating color distractions, black and white photography draws the viewer’s attention to the interplay of light and shadows, emphasizing the textures and details within the frame.
The monochromatic treatment beautifully accentuated Aarthi’s distinct poses and movements, as she navigated the bustling streets of Manly. The juxtaposition of her ensemble against the urban cityscape created a striking visual contrast, evoking a sense of dynamic energy and allure. Shooting from across the street as cars drove by, we aimed to capture the essence of fashion and editorial movement, resulting in a series of captivating images that truly embodied the vintage, editorial and fashion vibe we had envisioned.
