In November 2022, I had the pleasure of collaborating with the stunning new model Tamara for a captivating bikini photoshoot. The picturesque beaches of Manly, including Delwood and Fairlight, served as the perfect backdrop for our creative session. Today, I’ll be sharing three breathtaking black and white images from the shoot, showcasing how bikinis can beautifully translate into timeless artistry.

Tamara brought along a couple of bikinis for the shoot. One of them was a full red bikini, while the other, featured in three of the images we’ll explore in this post, was a yellow floral design. Both choices complemented Tamara’s slender and classic bikini model look, accentuating her slim figure.

We started our day bright and early at 7 a.m. to make the most of the beautiful morning light at Manly’s Ocean Beach. As the photoshoot progressed we moved towards Fairlight Beach, where the sun was at its peak. These three selected images were captured by the Fairlight Beach Pool, casting an amazing light on Tamara and her bikinis.

The Power of Black and White Photography and choice to present these three images in black and white was deliberate to create a mood with Tamara’s classic bikini look. The strong sunlight at Fairlight Beach created stark contrasts and bold shadows, which black and white imagery expertly captures. The absence of colour allows the focus to shift entirely to the form, texture, and composition of the subject, emphasising Tamara’s captivating figure. Black and white images possess a timeless quality that can evoke a sense of nostalgia and evoke emotions more powerfully than their colour counterparts.

This collaborative style of photoshoot allows both parties to expand their portfolios while nurturing creativity and fostering a positive and supportive environment. For each hour of the shoot, the model will receive five professionally edited shots of their choice.
