Watsons Bay is a suburb located in the eastern suburbs of Sydney, Australia. It is known for its scenic views, picturesque beach, and historic landmarks and also has Lady Bay beach found along the South Head Heritage Trail. The trail provides stunning views of the coastline and Sydney Harbour and leads to the South Head Lighthouse, which was built in 1858 and is still in use today.
Lady Bay Beach is a small, secluded beach and found about halfway along the trail and is known for its beautiful views and calm waters and has amazing light in the afternoon. It’s also a great location for a photoshoot, although the beach can get busy so better to shoot weekdays than weekends and not on a really hot day!
This shoot with model Vanessa took place on Lady Bay Beach in the run up to sunset. Here are a couple of images from the shoot where I’ve gone for a vintage post processing style in an attempt to emulate the look and feel of Kodak Gold 200 film.
For the theme of the shoot, we tried to take the idea behind this Swimwear in the City shoot, also with Vanessa, and turn it on its head. So from Swimwear in the city to clothes on the beach and in the Water.
A fun shoot on the beach and I’ll have much more from this photoshoot featuring more vintage vibes at Watsons Bay soon.
